2. Activators of the Rhodopsin gene are present before activation of the gene. FIZ1 expression rises at this time and it can synergize with NRL and CRX at the Rho and PDE6B promoters. FIZ1 may syncronize the onset of maturation related gene expression. PMID: 17141759
3. Homologous to mouse and bovine Fiz1 (flt-3 interacting zinc finger). Interacts with NRL (neural retina leucine zipper). Antibody detects protein in human, mouse, bovine retina. Possible role for Fiz1 as a transcriptional repressor. PMID: 12566383
